Iowa 511 is a comprehensive traffic and traveler information app provided by the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT). Designed for both general travelers and commercial vehicle operators, this app offers up-to-date traffic information for interstates, U.S. routes, and state highways throughout Iowa. It is important to note that information for county roads and city streets is not included in this app.

Key features of the Iowa 511 app include:

• Hands-free, eyes-free audio announcements of upcoming traffic events along your route
• A zoom-enabled map displaying tappable traffic event icons and nearby camera views
• Near real-time updates on winter road conditions, traffic incidents, construction, truck restrictions, and road closures
• Trucker Mode providing resources specific to commercial vehicle operators
• Option to create and manage a personalized Your 511 account, which includes saved routes, areas, favorite camera views, and alerts via email and/or text
• Travel time delays associated with traffic reports (identified by orange glowing icons)
• Current traffic speeds
• Traffic camera images and streaming video available throughout the state. Users can save their favorite cameras for convenient access later by signing up for an account.
